Samhain is a time to honor and remember those who have died.
A time to remember the good times and the bad for our furry and non-furry
family who are on the other side. Currently, popular culture celebrates this on
the 31st of October, but originally, it was the halfway point
between the Equinox (9/23) and the Solstice (12/22). These celebrated things of
an agricultural nature and so their calendar was the position of the sun.
There are 90 days between those two events. Forty-five days from the Equinox
would be 11/7.
This year, our Samhain celebration will consist of:
Pot Luck Feast (please tell everyone what you will bring at the Food List,
or through Facebook). Also, please remember to sign up, so everyone knows
how many to plan for at Registration.
Readings -- we will have one or two people available to do
Spirit Circle -- this involves all of us being able to
receive and pass along impressions and messages. If you are not comfortable
saying what you got, we will have cards available to allow you to write it down
and, if intended for a particular person, they will receive the card.
Our goal is to celebrate the Sabbat and enable everyone to
spend some time with those on the other side.
